Khamenei Sets Unprecedented Execution Record to Avoid Overthrow
16 executions on Thursday, 44 executions in one week, including 23 Baluch compatriots
In an effort to save his regime from being overthrown, Khamenei has set a new record for executions and crimes committed in recent years. The accelerated process of executions reveals the regime’s helplessness against the explosive situation of society and the growing anger of the people.
On Thursday, the regime’s judiciary hanged 16 prisoners, and within a week (from Saturday, April 29 to Friday, May 5), at least 44 prisoners were executed, including 23 Baluch compatriots. Of these, 31 executions were reported in recent statements.
On Friday, May 5, two prisoners, Faramarz Shakhsi and Behzad Hanifi, were hanged in Urmia prison. On Thursday, May 4, four prisoners were executed, including 23-year-old Jalaluddin Rahimian in Lakan Rasht Prison, Habibullah Faqir Dadzehi (Sakhi) in Isfahan Central Prison, Edris Gorgij from Zahedan in Torbat Jam Prison, 23-year-old Hamid Emamizadeh in Khorramabad Central Prison, 23-year-old Hamed Mousavi in Ardabil Central Prison, Mehdi Farrokhi, and Mohammad Ali Bani Ebrahimi in Qezelhesar Prison in Karaj were hanged.
Including six prisoners executed in Mashhad and Yazd prisons on the same day, the total number of those executed on May 4 reached 16. Additionally, on Tuesday, May 2, Mohammad Malekdadzehi (Rigi) was executed in Mashhad Central Prison.
Today, Khamenei’s agents hanged Mr. Habib Chaab, who was kidnapped by the regime’s intelligence ministry in October 2020. On the same day, two prisoners named Abdullah Khanmohammadi and Salahuddin Majidi were hanged in Salmas prison. Moreover, the regime’s head of justice in West Azarbaijan announced the execution of another person accused of drug trafficking.
The regime, with a record of torture and execution, must be rejected by the international community, and its leaders must be brought to justice for four decades of crimes against humanity.
